Sadly we note the recent deaths of current and long-time members -
ELENA ITSKOVICH / GULKO
Elena passed away on 12th February - this was both sudden and unexpected and has been a shock to all.
Elena, always with Leonid, has been a core member in our MG Club - being at nearly every club night, every run and every other activity; always fully involved and at the centre of the enjoyment. More than that she keenly provided fresh ideas and sought-out and arranged, again with Leonid, many highly successful club meals at veues new to most. We will all miss her initiatives, enthusiasm and laughter and our sympathies are very much with Leonid and all the friends who will miss her greatly.
Elena's funeral is 9am Sunday 15th February at John Rhind Funeral Services, 19 London St., Richmond, Christchurch.
ELLIS SHIER
- a long-time club member and MG enthusiast. Ellis passed away on 17th November 2025 at the age of 95. Thank you to daughter Kate Lewis - his driver to some more recent MG Club events - for this information. Our thoughts are with her and Ellis's family. Kate's contact details - ring Di or Paul.
Time trials and motorkhana activities at Levels Raceway - see 28th March below. To help with planning Bob would appreciate in the near future, the names of those attending. Questions - Bob would welcome them.

A short run to a choice of cafés for morning tea, then an interesting and varied wander to our picnic spot. Bring your foldup chairs and your picnic lunch for a relaxing time out.

Always very popular - prepared and waited on by ARA food and hospitality students and tutors. This year it is the Italian menu.
Payment is required in advance into our club account. $40 p.p.. The deadline for booking and payment is likely to be March 1 - so a.s.a.p..

SAT. 7th MAR. - Inaugural Brit & Euro Classic Car Show
Wigram Air Museum fields - Saturday 7th March
Very large annual gathering of classic cars. Free public display.
Cars must be on-site from 10am - 2pm.
All MGs (club members and others) are welcome to join our MG area; the more the merrier!!
This will be a fun day. The B&E Car Shows are huge, now well-established events in Wellington, Auckland and Dunedin.
WED. 18th MAR. - MMM Run
SAT. 28th MAR. - MG Track Day at Levels Raceway
Timaru
Meeting from 8am with briefing and scrutineering.
Timed track events - standing 1/4 mile, autocross, 2 x m/khana events on seal, full circuit sprints.
For some an MG weekend together in Timaru; for others a great day trip to be part of our 'MG exclusive' event. "The "BEST" day's fun on four wheels."
Entry: Open to all MGCC members driving a road legal MG (Wof & registered). Otago Club members very welcome.
Entry is $95.00/driver for Canterbury MG Club members. $110/driver for non- members. (Levels & Motorsport NZ charges). Payment to club act 02-0865-0020158-00. Incl. name & 'Levels'.

A daytime indoor/outdoor celebratory get-together with 'A's, 'GT's and 'F's - but all MGs obviously VERY welcome. Also Concours judging - all MG models. Intentions are that you will be encouraged to dress and picnic in the period of your car! A good time is assured! Watch for more details.
