3. Art Deco. If not attending the National MG Rally (7 - 14 Feb next year) you might be interested in the HBVCC Art Deco Week Rally and other classic car events in Napier - 19 - 22 Feb. For pre-1966 cars, with pre-1950 cars able to join the Art Deco Parade through the Napier CDB.   Click here

Depart 10.30am from The Peg

A short run - to a café for morning tea, then on to a nearby picnic spot. Bring your foldup chairs and your picnic lunch for a relaxing time out.

SUN. 23rd NOV. - Motorkhana

307 Purchas Rd. Amberley - 1pm briefing. 

Midday (12pm) - sausage sizzle, coffee/tea provided by the Club.

Test your driving skills around flagged poles on a paddock - lightheared competition.

Four driving tests - great fun! Timed events - racing against the clock.

NZ Motor Sport fee etc.:  $15/competing driver.  Non-club members welcome - $20/competitor.  Pay cash at event.

Time keepers, recorders, judges are obviously very welcome.

FRI. 12th DEC. - Club Christmas Dinner

5.30pm for 6.30 buffet meal ($55) - Richmond Club

A fun, social celebration of Christmas, and of the past year.

Enjoy a great time. While not required, do think about wearing some Christmas attire - it all adds to the colour and enjoyment of the evening - and you may just in a small prize!

Bring $5 or $10 or ... of actual money. Raffle tickets will be available with winners drawn 'on the night'.

If you are a performer e.g. play an instruement, Paul would love to hear from you!!

$55/person with booking required by pre-payment to the Club bank account - no later than Friday 5th December!

The MG Car Club Canterbury Centre has its roots in the original 'MG Car Club of New Zealand', formed in 1952 when many of the country's motorsport enthusiasts drove our favourite marque in the shape of TCs, TAs, Ps and Js.

From those early beginnings the NZ Club has devolved into four major Centres, two in the North Island and two in the South.  Each of these Centres is autonomous, organising competitive and social events for members within its regions. Like the 'Crusaders' our region includes Nelson, Marlborough and the West Coast as well as Canterbury. There are also a range of inter-Centre and national activities you are able to enjoy.  And of course, if you are visiting another region you will be most welcome to participate in any of their events, competitive or social.

Like most MG Clubs around the world we are affiliated to the MGCC UK ensuring access to badging, logos and so on.  We also maintain regular contact with a number of Centres in NZ, Australia, the US and the UK to help ensure we offer the best possible benefits and MG enjoyment for all of our members.​
